Well, we certainly had some rain and a few good blows: the river rose quickly, almost to food level but not quite. It was the first good “flushing” we have had this Winter. The water coloured to strong, milky tea but then soon cleared. I was expecting more damage along the banks but there has been little so there is nothing to do for this months Work Party which is now cancelled. The River looks very healthy with good flow and colour and fish can be found with relative ease. We do need more rain and a serious “flushing” to clear certain areas – we can but pray that occurs. I saw otter tracks on my latest river walk and the dog put up two deer and a fox.
I will be chasing the grayling between Christmas and New Year if I can. Winter fishing can be very rewarding. Tight Lines and that’s it for this year.
