With all the high winds and rain that we have had in the last month I was expecting there to be more problems then there are. The river is running fast but is at the normal depth for this time of the year, this morning at Damery the hight was 48cm.

As always after the winter there are a number of Trees in the river. As you have seen the work party next Sunday will be to start clearing the river of the trees. I have also noted that a number of trees have come down along the road, but these have been removed by the landowners. The lower section of the river is looking good and if I was to fish today this is were I would be heading for.

Could I thank the 17 members that sent me their catch return. From the data that I have I can see that the river has been fished in every month of 2015 and over 1500 fish have been reported. I will be working on the data and will present the final data at the AGM in March. I have attached a copy of the 2016 catch return below. Please download it and keep an up to date record of your fishing.

In general the river is in a good condition and I am sure that after the trees have been removed it will settle down.

Thought for the year!! When you fish the river this year why not try and fish a beat that you did not fish last year, we do have some 6 miles and the Free Section to fish.
