The River is running little high and carrying some colour. There is more rain on the way but our River seems to return to a fishable state more quickly than many would expect. The bank vegetation and water weed is rapidly dying back as the leaves fall. The banks can be very slippery at this time of year so if you are planning to wade make sure you have identified a safe exit before you get in. Your footing when in the water may also be precarious as stones will have been moved and the river bed will be unstable until the water levels drop.
Strangely, we had expected more damage along the River than has been identified but we will have a Work Party this weekend to deal with certain challenges – please see below. If you are by the River and see anything that needs to be dealt with by a Work Party please let us know.
